This document is preserved as part of CSA’s historical collection. The 2021 edition contains an extended discussion of India’s three Farm Acts of 2020, including contemporary concerns and recommendations relating to agricultural markets, APMCs, MSP, FPOs, contract farming and market regulation. The 2022 edition is a shorter revised version. It retains the principal discussion of sustainable and local food systems but omits most of the Farm Acts section. The legislation, statistics and policy references in both documents reflect the period in which they were written and have not been updated.
